Gardening with Rio Grande Food Project

  • Albuquerque Involved 108 Wellesley Dr SE Albuquerque, NM, 87106 United States (map)

Our friends at RGFP have a beautiful urban garden on-site where clients can learn how to grow their own fresh produce. The garden boasts 19 raised beds, a fruit orchard, additional growing areas for growing 20+ varieties of fruits and vegetables and a 5,000-gallon rain catchment system which allows RGFP to use rainwater to minimize city water usage. Once harvested, the crops are weighed and distributed immediately through their weekly food boxes.

All this wonderful growing takes work - so grab your gardening gloves and join us for a morning in the dirt!

This is an outdoor gardening event. Please dress for the weather and wear closed-toed shoes. Children are welcome at this event. Each person attending the event must be registered in advance to keep tabs on the number of people in attendance. Water and snacks will be provided. Please bring gardening or work gloves and gardening tools if you have them.
