Home-cooked meals are one of the many ways patients and their families are supported and cared for at Ronald McDonald Houses. Please join ABQ Involved as we prepare a meal for the guests at Ronald McDonald House and help provide some nourishment and comfort to these families.
Ronald McDonald Houses provide overnight stays to families seeking lifesaving treatments at local area hospitals. The guest rooms provide safe and comfortable spaces for families to rest and recharge together following long days at the hospital. More than a roof over their heads, these accommodations relieve families of the stresses of finding a place to stay while far from home. This allows parents to be stronger partners in their children’s critical care.
ABQ Involved will plan the menu and purchase ingredients for the meals. All preparation must take place in a commercial kitchen under specific guidelines, so please do not bring any food or groceries to the event unless asked. All volunteers must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and provide proof of vaccination upon arrival. Mask must be worn at all times in common areas, including the kitchen. Kids over age 10 are welcome to participate with proof of COVID-19 vaccination. Any children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that due to new guidelines, a maximum of 8 volunteers are allowed at this event. Please complete registration for each volunteer attending.
