The mission of The Rape Crisis Center of Central New Mexico (RCC) is to provide support and advocacy to survivors of sexual assault and abuse within Central New Mexico, and to serve as a community resource on issues regarding prevention and awareness of sexual violence.
Project Armor helps fulfill this mission by providing new clothing items for survivors to wear after they undergo a forensic/medical exam for sexual assault. Often after an exam, certain items of the survivor’s clothing are taken for evidence. Through your donations of new clothing items to Project Armor, RCC is able to provide survivors with new, fresh clothing items to wear following an exam.
There are three ways to donate to Project Armor:
The RCC is accepting in-person drop off of clothing donations for Project Armor daily beginning Monday, August 17th-Friday, August 21st from 9:30am-5:00pm at the RCC location at 9741 Candelaria Rd. NE. The following items are needed: leggings and yoga pants for women and girls in all sizes; underwear for women, children and men in all sizes; t-shirts and blouses for women, children and men in all sizes; bralettes and sports bras for women and girls in all sizes; and sweats (pants or shorts) for women, children and men in all sizes. All donations must be new, unworn clothing items. Though we are thankful for all donations, used clothing, no matter how well it is washed, often holds the shape and the smell of the previous owner.
You may purchase items online using RightGift. This method allows you to purchase items selected by Project Armor and your donations will be shipped directly to RCC.
Make a monetary contribution to ABQ Involved. We will grant 100% of your donation to Project Armor.
