Please join ABQ Involved in the month of November as we collect much needed daily living essentials and winter necessities for the youth (ages 14-21) served by New Day Youth and Family Services. There are three ways to give in November:
Drop-off: ABQ Involved will collect items for New Day at our office in Nob Hill November 2-November 30, 2020 from 10am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Simply bring your donations to us and we will get them to New Day. If you need more info or have questions, You may call or text ABQ Involved at 505-695-2613 or send us an email at admin@abqinvolved.org.
Needed items include shampoo, conditioner, lotion, body wash (full-sized bottles) lip balm, deodorant, gift sets of toiletry items, coats, hats, gloves, and warm socks.
Purchase online: When a young person comes to New Day's Safe Home shelter, they are given their own MP3 player. For many of them, listening to music is the best way to escape the difficult things that have brought them to the Safe Home. It is one of the most important ways New Day can support them, and we hope you can help New Day continue offering the gift of music to youth experiencing homelessness. For around $20, you can purchase an MP3 player here and it will be shipped directly to New Day.
Make a monetary donation to ABQ Involved. We will grant 100% of your donation to New Day Youth and Family Services.
Between 3,000 to 4,000 youth are homeless or precariously housed in Albuquerque on any given night. It is not a life they chose. It is a life chosen for them. Some of these youth have been abused, neglected or exploited. Some have severe emotional problems. Some are just beginning to run into trouble with the juvenile justice system. And some have run away from unhealthy homes. With you, our youth have the opportunity for a better future.
