For over 15 years, the Albuquerque Homeless Stand Down has been conducted each year to help increase community connections and resources to the homeless Veteran community. Due to concerns about COVID-19, this annual event has been re-invented as Operation Onward Support.
On Friday, October 23, 2020, Veterans Integration Center (VIC) will deploy several teams of their staff to provide critically needed items including food, socks, and cold weather gear as we prepare for the winter months. Emergency housing will be immediately provided to any Veteran willing to accept services by the VIC or other service providers. Referrals to other resources will also be provided for those needing them. Donations are critical to the VIC’s ability to provide services and support to all Veterans still living on the streets in New Mexico.
Please join ABQ Involved to provide much need supplies to VIC’s amazing effort. Needed items include small toiletry items, backpacks, sleeping bags, blankets, cold weather gear, and bottled water. ABQ Involved will collect items for Operation Onward Support at our office in Nob Hill October 1st - October 20, 2020 from 9am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Simply bring your donations to us and we will get them to VIC prior to the day of the event. You may call or text ABQ Involved at 505-695-2613 or send us an email at admin@abqinvolved.org.
Financial contributions can be made directly to the VIC here. You may also make a contribution VIC through ABQ Involved by clicking on the button below. 100% of your donation will be given to the VIC.
