MoGro is a non-profit mobile grocery service working to support sustainable local food systems and eliminate barriers to affordable healthy food. Parents in New Mexico face multiple challenges when it comes to feeding their families. Vehicle access is a big problem in our state, and public transportation doesn't have the funding it does in many cities. Even families that live near a store aren't always able to keep up with the rising national prices of healthy food. MoGro’s network includes key neighborhoods and community centers in Albuquerque and Santa Fe to put healthy food within reach, and make it affordable. MoGro’s Weekly Share contains eight fruit and veggie items that change each week. People use these items to cook meals, send as lunches to school or work, or for quick, healthy snacks. We offer a family-friendly range of produce in our Weekly Share, striking a balance of what our local farmers are harvesting and other common "go-to" fruits & veggies, sourcing locally and organically wherever possible.
ABQ Involved is joining the MoGro team to pack produce bags for the Weekly Share of food to be distributed to participating families.
